Incomegenic is a journal about building online income — written from Nigeria, for anyone tired of advice that doesn’t fit their reality.

I document what I’m learning, what others are sharing with me, and the tools and tactics that actually work. No hype. No screenshots of fake dashboards. Just the real thing.

The Longer Version

Let me tell you why this site exists.

A few years ago, I started trying to build income online. Like most people, I began where everyone begins: Google and YouTube.

And like most Nigerians, I quickly hit a wall.

Every guide assumed I had:

  • A US bank account
  • A Stripe or PayPal that actually worked
  • Dollars to spend on tools
  • A market that paid in USD

Every course promised “₦1M per month” and delivered a Google Drive folder of recycled PDFs.

Every “guru” showed screenshots of earnings but never explained the actual work.

I wasted money. I wasted time. I bought things I didn’t need. I chased models that couldn’t work in my context.

Incomegenic is the site I wish existed when I started.

Not another “make money online” blog. A journal — documenting the real process of building income, in public, from Nigeria, with everything on the table.

What Makes Incomegenic Different

1. It’s Built in Public

I don’t write from a position of “I’ve figured it all out.” I write from the middle of the journey. You see my numbers, my failures, my pivots. When something doesn’t work, you’ll know. When it does, you’ll see exactly how.

2. It’s Nigeria-First

Most “make money online” content is written for an American or European audience. Incomegenic is written for Nigerians and Africans — with tools, platforms, and payment systems that actually work here.

3. It Credits Others

When someone shares a tactic, a result, or a lesson with me — I write it up with their name and permission. This site is a hub for what the community is learning, not just what I’m learning.

4. It Doesn’t Sell Dreams

I won’t tell you that you’ll make ₦1M in 30 days. I won’t tell you online income is “easy” or “passive.” It’s neither. It’s work — but it’s work that can change your life if you approach it seriously.

Who’s Behind This

Wasiu Okunola — that’s me.

I’m a Nigerian builder documenting my journey to build real income online. I’m not a guru. I’m not a millionaire. I’m someone who got tired of the noise and decided to build something honest.

How This Site Makes Money

Full transparency. Incomegenic is monetized in three ways:

  1. Affiliate links — When you buy a tool or course through a link on this site, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend things I’ve used or thoroughly vetted. 
  2. Digital products — I’ll eventually sell my own guides and templates.
  3. Ads and sponsorships — Once the site has enough traffic, I’ll partner with relevant brands. I’ll never run ads that hurt your reading experience or promote scams.

What I will NOT do:

  • Promote things I haven’t vetted
  • Run “get rich quick” ads
  • Sell your email to anyone, ever
  • Recommend a course I wouldn’t buy myself
